Radholme park was sold to Peregrine Towneley and was run as part of the family's Thorneyholme estate. At that time a particular tenant of Radholme Laund farm was Matthew Brown, the brewer from Blackburn, who installed the large iron gates still seen today in many parts of Radholme and beyond.
The survey also listed all the tenants and their landholdings, including those around Radholme Laund, the old deer park – these are shown on the map.
