Sir Richard Shireburne was appointed keeper of Radholme. At the same time he was master forester of Bowland and also tenant of Leagram Park, which he then bought in 1663. Sir Richard lived at Stonyhurst and he also built the bridge across the Hodder which is called Cromwell's bridge.
